Our most recent show ...

The sensational '80s' hit show FAME - THE MUSICAL featured an exceptionally talented young cast aged 14 - 25 years. Fully staged with a Rock Band - there were 5 sell out performances at The Sallis Benny Theatre, University of Brighton, in December 2007.

Previously in April 2007 we had a mega success with the Disney sensation HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL - THE STAGE SHOW. Our talented young performers from 'PerformerZone' wowed the audiences with the premiere of this show in Sussex. There were 8 sell-out performances at The Old Market, Hove BN3.

            before that...

Brighton Performers strutting their stuff...

Our youngest group Brighton Young Performers (aged 5 - 14 years) recently presented their own show 'THE WEST END EXPERIENCE' at The Winter Garden Theatre, Eastbourne on Sunday November 12th at 7pm. This involved over 150 children on stage performing excerpts from your favourite West End Musicals. This show was a sell-out success for all our little 'drama queens'! It was a fantastic experience for all the children from our combined schools in Brighton, Eastbourne and Bexhill On Sea.

2006...

FEATHER BOY - The Musical

The Old Market, Upper Market Street, Hove BN3

Feather Boy was commissioned by the National Theatre, London, as part of the Shell Connections nationwide youth theatre competition. Adapted from the award-winning book by Brighton author Nicky Singer and following the success of a BAFTA winning TV programme now we have an exciting family musical. It is the inspiring story of a young boy from a broken home who soars when he overcomes his classroom bully. The lead roles were played by two very talented local 12 year old boys. The talented cast were chosen at competitive auditions back in December 2005 from performers all over Sussex from 10 different schools.

PASS IT ON - By Doug Lucie

A New play - also commissioned by The National Theatre.

Hard-hitting contemporary youth theatre with a comic edge - this play was impressively performed by a talented cast with ages from 15 to 20 years old at The Nightingale Theatre, Brighton BN1 in early April. The central theme was the effect of war in various parts of the world in the last 40 years on teenagers in very different environments and times. The Nightingale Theatre (patron Steven Berkoff) provided an intimate 'fringe theatre' experience for our older members of PerformerZone Youth.

2005...

PerformerZone students performed BEAUTY AND THE BEAST by Laurence Boswell and music by Mike Sands last December at The Pavilion Theatre, The Dome, Brighton.

This dramatic story-telling of the favourite fairy-tale thriller was a mega success for the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2003 and 2004, and our adapted version with a talented cast of players aged 14-21 years old was a sell-out success too!!

Brighton Young Performers

The show 'SCHOOL OF DREAMS' specially written for Brighton Young Performers was a sell-out success at The Pavilion Theatre, The Dome, Brighton BN1 on December 11th. This ambitious programme featured the hit songs RADIO GA GA, HOUND DOG, WE BESEECH THEE (Godspel) and THE LAMBETH WALK and many more with a highly amusing script - all showing off the newly found skills in singing, dancing and acting, of all our keen performers aged 5 - 14 years old.

Performances in the professional tour of 'JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT' featured many of our youngsters from Brighton Young Performers in Eastbourne in June 2006. This famous Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber Musical provided a perfect opportunity for our talented Young Performers to perform with West End professionals.
